hi, this is jamie loftus. i am a comedian, emmy-nominated tv writer, author, and podcaster in los angeles if that's okay, but am from boston originally, with your permission of course. if you’re trying to figure out how you ended up here, these are my best guesses:
my book raw dog: the naked truth about hot dogs was published in 2023 and became an NYT and indie bestseller.
i’m the host of two weekly podcasts, the bechdel cast (since 2016) and sixteenth minute (since 2024). i’ve also written, researched, produced and hosted a number of limited run shows including lolita podcast, aack cast, my year in mensa, and ghost church. i’ve got a webby and a handful of iheartradio pod nominations to show for it.
i’ve been doing standup and performing solo shows forever and i really love it. most recently i’m working on a new show called the tiny man is trying to kill me, and brought my show boss whom is girl to edinburgh fringe to great reviews except for the one. other shows i’ve workshopped are mrs. joseph chestnut america usa to tour with my book, the hacker who codes, and i lost my virginity on august 15 2010 which is just true.
or maybe you like animated tv, in which case i’ve written on teenage euthanasia, star trek: lower decks, robot chicken, magical girl friendship squad, human kind of, or the upcoming disney channel show stugo. i was a longtime cast member on super deluxe back when that was a thing, and wrotte and starred in a comedy central webseries called irrational fears.
other than that, i’m not really sure. thanks and i love you!
here's a vid of me playing the oboe very well:
